Phillips releases CellSpy™ Lithium Ion Battery Management System
INDUSTRY, California (July 14, 2009) Phillips Aerospace has released the CellSpy™ Lithium Ion Battery Management System. Designed to aerospace standards, CellSpy is an advanced and complete system for controlling and monitoring the charge and discharge of today's newest lithium ion battery chemistries. Precision, 0.005V, advanced-algorithm cell balancing extends and maximizes the performance of military, industrial and automotive applications. CellSpy measures and logs all pertinent system parameters and uses them to accurately calculate state-of-charge. CellSpy's shut-down capability protects batteries in the event of over/under-voltage, over-current and over-temperature events. Supporting string voltages over 1,000V and providing CANbus 2.0b, RS232, Ethernet and discrete digital interfaces, CellSpy is configurable to specific application requirements.
An optional software package is available to configure the CellSpy Lithium Ion Battery Management System and provide battery data logging capability. CellSpy versions that support Ethernet can be configured and monitored through a standard web browser.
