INDUSTRY, California (January 19, 2005) Phillips has been selected by Boeing Satellite Systems (BSS) to supply advanced test systems to support the National Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System (NPOESS).
Under the contracts, Phillips will develop Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and Real-Time Command and Control systems based on Phillips' ICX virtual instruments and integrated parallel testing architecture products for delivery in 2005, with options for additional products to be procurred in 2007.
The National Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System (NPOESS) is a satellite system used to monitor global environmental conditions, and collect and disseminate data related to: weather, atmosphere, oceans, land and near-space environment. The NPOESS program is managed by the tri-agency.
Integrated Program Office (IPO), employing personnel from the DoC, DoD and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
